Recurring reminders reference for typed reminders
There are a lot of options for setting recurring reminders, with a few exceptions the command always follows the pattern
@Remind "this is the reminder text" <on X of> every [recurring term] <at time> <time zone abbreviation>
- if you set the reminder in the 1:1 chat with the bot, @mentioning the bot is not required
- the reminder text can include links or formatting like bold text
- the time is optional, if omitted the bot uses your personal "start of day" time you can change in your settings
- the time zone abbreviation is optional but can be handy for teams that work across multiple time zones
The following sections show how you can format the recurring term above. If you would rather not type recurring reminders, please use the scheduling interface in the Reminders tab.
Every day
@Remind "this is the reminder text" every day at 10am
Occurs every day of the week
Every week
@Remind "this is the reminder text" every monday,thursday at 10am
Occurs every week on the selected day(s).
@Remind "this is the reminder text" every weekday at 10am
Occurs every week, Monday through Friday
Every other week
@Remind "this is the reminder text" every other tuesday at 10am starting on 12/02/2024
Occurs every 14 days, setting the start date is optional. The date format follows your locale setting:
- if your Teams client is set to use English (United States), the expected date format is MM/DD/YYYY
- for all other language/territory combinations the expected format is DD/MM/YYYY
Every month
@Remind "this is the reminder text" on the 10th day of every month at 10am
You can also use "first" or "last" day of every month.
@Remind "this is the reminder text" on the first thursday of every month at 10am
You can use "first" or "last" thursday of every month.
@Remind "this is the reminder text" on the first weekday of every month at 10am
Avoids weekends (Sat & Sun). You can use "first" or "last" weekday of every month.
Every year
@Remind "this is the reminder text" every Dec 12 at 10am
Custom
@Remind "this is the reminder text" every 3 days at 10am starting on 12/12/2024
You can use "days", "weeks" or "months". Setting the start date is optional. The date format follows your locale setting:
- if your Teams client is set to use English (United States), the expected date format is MM/DD/YYYY
- for all other language/territory combinations the expected format is DD/MM/YYYY
Every x hours
This only works in the 1:1 chat with the bot
"drink water" every weekday every 2 hours between 8am and 2pm
